The idea of making your website to show people who you are is not something new on the Internet. Especially when I am working in the software engineering industry, where making a website is just a piece of cake. However, until this day, I am motivated enough to make one for myself. Here are some of my reasons:
To document what I’ve learned over the years
Since my first day of being a software engineer, I can not remember how many articles or tutorials I’ve read to meet my work’s requirements. We all know that everything in the engineering industry goes like a high-speed train. A bunch of libraries and frameworks are released every day. So if I stop learning, I fall behind. But, I have to admit that I have forgotten most of the things I’ve read. That’s bad. So documenting things is a good way to keep knowledge stay longer in my mind. Or at least, I can come here and recall it whenever I need.
To practice writing skill
Yes, Vietnamese engineers have communication problems in general and writing problems in particular. I am completely in this context. I do understand what my co-workers say but it takes me a long time to fully indicate what I think to them. Hope that writing a blog will make my English communication better.
To get better day by day
I think that actively writing things and then showing them to the world is better than passively learning from reading things. I not only can speak out about what I think but also can get direct feedback from my readers. Is that awesome, isn’t it? Moreover, when I get older, I can look back to see how naive I was hehe.
To build a small side project
Like everyone who has been into the hustle and bustle of a corporate job, I barely have time for myself. It’s been such a long time since my last personal project. So, it’s a chance for me to build something besides my work even if it’s not a big thing. I will have another post talking in detail about how I make this site next month.
Well, it’s the end of my very first blog post. Can not believe that a student who was poor at literature can write something long like this. Thanks for reading.
